The 2017 FIFA World Cup bound team, that recently had a two month long training stint in Germany, will start their campaign in U16 AFC Qualifiers being held in Tabriz, Iran tomorrow, i.e. 16th September. India along with host Iran, Bahrain and Lebanon have been placed in Group E.
A total of 45 teams have been divided in 11 Groups, with 11 Group Winners and 4 best runners up will make it to the U16 AFC Championship, to be held in India in September 2016. India, being the hosts, qualify automatically for the Championship and will use this for practice for the 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup.
Indian U15 Team will be high on confidence after their two month long stint in Germany where they had plenty of match practice against local youth teams. In all they played 13 matches, winning eight, losing four and drawing only one game.
India will start their campaign on 16th September against Bahrain at Yadegar-e-Imam Stadium. The complete schedule of India's matches are as follows:
1. 16th September: Bahrain vs India
2. 18th September: Iran vs India
3. 20th September: India vs Lebanon
If India tops the group or is one of the four best runners up, than the next best team would qualify for the Final Championship.
